Gone, but not forgotten - This quaint home at 76 West Main St., embellished by an elaborate wraparound porch, is purchased by Marine Trust Company in 1965 as the site for construction of a new banking facility. The property, referred to as the Woodard house, is eventually transformed into a brick building, surrounded by driveways and parking lot. The bank's former location at the square is considered by the village board for use as a youth recreation center, and also attracts the interest of the Town of Persia for use as a town hall.
