Jets open season against Colts
The Gowanda Midget Jets opened their season Aug. 26 against the Springville Colts. It was a home game for the Jets, but because Hillis Field, which is the home of the Jets, was flooded, the team’s home games for 2009 will be played at the Seneca Sachems field.
The Colts were a very big team with many veterans on the team and the young Jet team was holding them at the half with a score of 4-0. In the third quarter the Colts were able to score twice and the Jets punched one in; the final score was 22-8.
The offense was led by Tim Isles with 11 carries for 62 yards and one touchdown, Lucas Brawdy was 4/5 passing for 33 yards, Cole Dailey had one reception for 17 yards, Dan Alt had 3 receptions for 16 yards, Darius Blasdell with 9 carries for 13 yards, Dalton Francis with 4 carries for 9 yards, and Carter
Benton with 6 carries for 2 yards.
