Curtain up in Gowanda
The Gowanda Thespians's fall production will take place a month earlier than usual. The curtain will go up for the theatre club's performances of "Cheaper by the Dozen" on Friday, Oct. 6 and Saturday, Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m.
Director John Jarzinski selected this comedy based on a best-selling novel which is set in the 1920s. This play focuses on a very large, but organized and well-run family. The successful businessman and father, played by Vinnie Cocca and his loving wife, Shelly Samarra, are very busy raising children ages 17 and younger. The large cast and crew of over 20 were selected from students attending seventh through 12th grade. Also look for a cameo appearance by Dudley the dog.
Assistants to the director are seniors Michelle Besse and Tina Homan. Penny Wesley is producer for this show.
The final dress rehearsal can be enjoyed for free by senior citizens on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Tickets can be purchased from company members or prior to the evening shows in the school lobby. Adults are $5, students and senior citizens are $3.
