The first-ever Perrysburg Town Picnic was held on Sunday, July 20 at the Perrysburg Town Park. Over 50 people braved the heat and humidity on this hot summer day to attend this event and enjoyed plenty of food, fun and games for all who attended.
Town Councilwoman Mary Denea organized the games for the children at the picnic. They included a three-legged race, sack race, treasure hunt, Frisbee toss and a scavenger hunt. There was also a water balloon toss for “adults only,” which proved to be very interesting.
A special thank you goes out to the Versailles Fire Company, Perrysburg United Methodist Church, Seventh Day Adventist Church, Perrysburg Fire Ladies Auxiliary, and Gowanda Starcraft for their donations of prizes for the children and beverages for the picnic.
This event was organized and made possible by the following: Peg Watkins, town clerk; Mary Denea; Lori Dankert, deputy town clerk; Christine Bartlett, village clerk; and Bev Smith, town resident.
Next year’s picnic is again being planned for July. All town residents are encouraged to attend. It is a great opportunity to meet neighbors and fellow town residents.
