Join the Wagon Train for dinner and breakfast

The Gowanda Moose Club, located on Aldrich Street, invites everyone to join the Wagon Train travelers for meals on Aug. 12 and 13.

After the Wagon Train arrives at the Moose Club grounds, and the travelers unhitch their horses and settle them in for the evening, Aug. 12, they will be treated to a pig roast. The dinner, consisting of pulled pork sandwiches, baby red potatoes, beans and cole slaw, will also be available to visitors starting at 5 p.m.

For $8, visitors can eat alongside the Wagon Train “wagoners” and hear the tales of their travels thus far, with music provided by DC Sound playing in the background. Or, for those who prefer simpler fare, hot dogs and beverages will also be available.

After dinner, a welcoming ceremony will be held that includes a special performance by the Buffalo Creek Dancers. Everyone is urged to bring lawn chairs.

Then, early the next day, everyone is invited back to the Moose Club to join the wagoners for breakfast.

Serving begins at 7 a.m. and, for $5, hearty appetites will enjoy link sausage, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, coffee and juice.
