Gowanda Planning Board notes
At the Feb. 13 Gowanda Planning Board meeting, the following transpired:
The Planning Board noted that it wishes to acknowledge that by reviewing and suggesting changes/additions to the Village Code Book, it is fulfilling its obligations as outlined in Article V 30.51 paragraph C: “At least every third year after the enactment of this chapter or the change of the location of district boundary lines the Planning Board shall submit a report to the Village Board recommending such changes or amendments, if any, which appear desirable in the interest of public welfare, convenience and necessity”.
The Planning board has and will continue to submit both lists of changes and amendments as well as, after investigation, drafts that the Planning Board recommends.
The main focus of the meeting was working toward finalizing the draft of Article VII Site Plan Approval Process of Chapter 30, Zoning, of the Village Code Book. The Site Plan Review Sections from the following communities have been reviewed: Eden, Hamburg, Springville, Amherst, Caro, Johnstown, Dane, Lake in Hills, Gilber, Salisbury, Madison, Matawan and Olean. Also NYS law 7-725, and NYS Dept of State Pamphlets “Creating the Community You Want: Municipal Options For Land Use Control” and “Site Development Plan Review”, are being referenced to insure that what is developed for Gowanda covers the important aspects of Site Plan Review.
The next topics to be reviewed by the Planning Board, Landscape and Streetscape Standards, also relate to Site Plan Review.
The next meeting of the Planning board is scheduled for March 13 at 7 p.m.
