Rural Health Network Grant awarded to HCA
The Healthy Community Alliance has been awarded a $260,000 grant for 2006 operations from the New York State Department of Health, Charles D. Cook Office of Rural Health. This year’s award is $11,000 larger than last year’s.
Grant funds will be used to cover the cost of providing the Alliance’s various programs and services, including health education and outreach, Fit & Fun©, youth mental health and suicide prevention, Personal Wellness Profile health-risk assessments, van transportation and more.
“This grant will help us continue operating needed programs and services in our rural community, while we work on new projects and initiatives like Academy Place that will help us become self-sustaining in the future,” stated HCA President Martha Kemsley. “The state’s continued support has been key to our ability to move forward on many different fronts,” she added.
