  Healthy Community Alliance
receives two grants

The Healthy Community Alliance has been awarded two new grants.

The first, from the Buffalo Bills Foundation, is a $5,000 grant to support Fit & Fun© activities at Gowanda Central School.

The Buffalo Bills Youth Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that primarily supports charitable organizations that emphasize improving the quality of life for youth and young adults in Western New York. This new grant will allow all the popular Fit & Fun© activities to continue at GCS for another year. Funds will cover the cost of all prizes, materials, and other expenses related to the program.

A second grant of $3,900 from the New York State Department Health will fund the Arthritis Foundation’s Aquatics Program that the Alliance will conduct in partnership with North Haven Aqua Center in Gowanda. The eight-week program is expected to begin in early spring and will provide a warm-water exercise program for people with arthritis.
