   Music in the Library ...
A Concert Series

Music in the Library ... A Concert Series will feature a concert by Doug Yeomans and the Lo Blu Flame on Friday evening, Oct. 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. The concert will take place in the main library room of the Town of Collins Public Library, located at 2341 Main St. (Route 39) in Collins.

Doug Yeomans is an award-winning guitarist, singer and songwriter. In 1990 he won the Buffalo Music Award for Best Country Lead Guitarist, and in 2001, he won the North American Rock Guitar Competition sponsored by the Buffalo Niagara Guitar Festival. Also in 2001, Yeomans won the Buffalo Music Award for Best Blues Guitarist, an honor he repeated in 2003. He plays gigs regionally with his band, Lo Blu Flame.

On Sept. 23 of this year, Yeomans’ latest CD, Down to the Roots, was released. The disc contains 12 songs, including 11 original songs and a cover of a Bill Monroe classic, Can’t You Hear Me Callin’. Yeomans describes the CD as a “great big melting pot of American Roots music ... The songs draw from R&R, Blues, Country, Bluegrass, and R&B. The music I love.” Yeomans and the Lo Blu Flame will be playing music from the new CD as well as his earlier release, First Flight. The Friends of the Collins Public Library sponsors the monthly concert series. The concerts are free and open to the public, although free will donations are gratefully accepted.
