St. Joseph School eighth grade graduation
June 19 was a very special day for the members of the eighth-grade class at St. Joseph School. In a graduation ceremony celebrated along with the 10 a.m. Mass, these young people took an important step on the journey into the next phase of their lives.
The following awards were presented to the eighth-graders: Altar & Rosary Society Award - Rebecca Russell; St. Vincent DePaul Society Award - David Kehr; Knights of Columbus Award - Andrea Andolsek; Julie Johnson Robinson Award - Morgan Valone; Pastors Award - Katelyn Schneider; Colonel Skoczylas Award - Rebecca Russell; Martha McHale Award - Laura Stang; Mr. and Mrs. Dan Gernatt Sr. Award - Rebecc Russell; Lindsay A. Rebmann Scholarship Award - David Kehr; Ted and Adeline Palcic Service Award - Ethan Johnson; St. Joseph the Worker Award - Kimberly Moesch.
In addition, the Knights of Columbus presented awards in conjunction with an essay contest held during the school year. The students each wrote an essay entitled “The Responsibility of the Catholic Citizen in a Free Society.” The results of the contest are as follows: First place - Andrea Andolsek; second place - Laura Stang; third place - Ethan Johnson.
