   Programs to continue
at LK Painter Center

Community programs and services at the L.K. Painter Community Center will continue, according to Craig Brown, former acting executive director and former board member of the Center. These include the Rural Counseling Program; the Parent Education Program using the Active Parenting Now course; 55 & Over Seniors, Town of Collins Recreation program; and the Morning Enrichment program. In addition, this year’s performance of “The Snow Queen” by Das Puppenspiel Puppet Theater has been scheduled for Oct. 15 and this fall, a Regional Development Workforce program will be held at the Center in partnership with Erie 2 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES.

The Healthy Community Alliance is overseeing two of the Center’s programs - Rural Counseling and Parent Education.

Rural Counseling serves children and youth up to age 19 in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua and Erie counties. Appointments are available Monday through Thursday and Friday as needed by calling 532-2006, extension 19.

The Parent Education program is presented in two-hour sessions over six weeks and is designed to provide an effective model for parenting children ages 5 through 12.
