during the Pioneer Days’ Parade   

Second annual Gowanda Pioneer Days’
Most Photogenic King and Queen contest

     It’s time once again to dig out those cute photos! A King and Queen from each age group will represent Gowanda in the Pioneer Days’ Parade May 21 at 6 p.m. You don’t need to go all out for this, your Sunday best is fine.

     Age groups are as follows (the age you are on May 21):

     Girls - under 1 year; 1 year; 2 and 3 years; 4 to 6 years; 7 to 9 years; 10 to 12 years; 13 to 15 years; and 16 to 18 years.

     Boys - under 1 year: 1 year; 2 and 3 years; 4 to 6 years; 7 to 9 years; 10 to 12 years; 13 to 15 years; and 16 to 18 years.

     Participants can drop off or mail photos with name, age, address and phone number on the back of the photo to the Gowanda Area Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 45, Gowanda, NY 14070. The Chamber office is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. No photos will be accepted after the deadline, April 1. Contestants must be residents of the Gowanda-area school district. Photos may not be larger than 4x6. No professional/nude photos will be accepted. School photos, however, may be used and pictures will be returned. Winning photos may be published in the Gowanda PennySaver/News.

     Photos can be viewed and voted for by the community at JC Penneys, 31 West Main St. in Gowanda from April 4 through May 13 at $1 per vote. Winners will be determined by whoever receives the most votes by the community. Contact Misti Eastland at 532-9053 if you have any questions.
