Gowanda Middle School

Fiction vs. Non-Fiction - A Juvenile Justice Class was presented to all of Mrs. Styles seventh-grade English-language arts students at Gowanda Middle School on Oct. 22. The students had just finished reading the book “Holes” by Louis Sachar, in which a character named Stanley was accused of “stealing” and his introduction to the criminal justice system was anything but realistic. Pictured are SRO Alessi, SRO Baltes and Probation Officer Embs presenting a realistic view of the juvenile justice system. There were plenty of questions and it was a learning experience for all.
