Packers’ season
ends in Springville
The Gowanda Midget Packers 2004 season came to an end against the Springville Bills. On a cold, rain-filled night, the Packers could not get the offense going. Falling behind early, the Packers lost the football game 25- 14. The Bills advanced to the second round in the Class “A” Playoffs.
The Packers’ defense was led by linebacker Jake Eddy with 10 tackles and six assists. Next was Christian VanNote with 10 tackles and two assists, followed by Dave Richter with eight tackles, seven assists and one fumble recovery. Jordan Pagan had seven tackles and six assists; Ryan Cleland had six tackles and four assists; Tallon Moritz had four tackles and five assists; Dakota Bartlett had four tackles and two assists; Adam Pagan and Shawn Dupuis each had three tackles and four assists; Matt Grubbs had three tackles, two assists and one sack; Dylan Huch and Joe Stearns had one tackle each; and Ian Byrne had one assist.
Adam Pagan led the Packers’ offense with 49 total yards. Next was Jordan Pagan with 34 yards on three carries and one touchdown. Christian VanNote had 30 yards on four carries and one touchdown; Jake Eddy had three carries for 8 yards; Ryan Grey and Bob Starks each had 2 yards; and Shawn Dupuis had one catch for 3 yards and the extra points.
The 2004 Midget Packers finished with a record of 5-2-1.
