Champion Readers - Closing ceremonies for the 2004 Summer Reading Olympics were held on Aug. 2 at the Collins Public Library. A total of 76 children, ages 3 to 15, read a total of 1,016 books. Certificates and prizes were awarded to all readers, with book awards being given to the following gold-medal readers: Damen Macleod, Austin Gabel, Jonathan Bell, Erin Tyler, Jenna Grainer, Josiah Bell, Hayley Weiss, Rachel Bell, Lyle Warrior, Samantha Lowenkron and Jackie Bissell. Books were also awarded to the following honorable-mention readers: Ryan Gernatt, Autumn Mentley, Aimee Zynda, Monica Sturm, Ian Warrior, Hannah Keller, Gabrielle McCormack, Michelle Merrill, Caitlyn Ploetz, Alyssa Warrior, Christine Zogaib, Cassie Cleversley, Haley Keller, John Stewart, Megan Stewart, Matthew Bouchard, Cameron Tallchief, Kim Merrill, Timothy Tallchief, Ashley Tallchief and Jessica Carriero.
