Precious Prints - During Gowanda’s National Night Out Against Crime event held at the American Legion on Aug. 3, Gowanda Police Officer Mark Baltes fingerprints little Maxamillion Howard of Collins for his child identification kit as his parents, Ronald and Jackie, and siblings, Georgeanna and Ronald Jr., watch. In addition to the fingerprints, the free kits also include a photograph and a pad the child bites to give a record of the bite pattern, and a DNA sample from the saliva. Other features of the Night Out were free refreshments, safety information provided by the Gowanda Neighborhood Watch group and a demonstration by Office Dave Hock and his K9 partner Kilo.
