Chock-Full of New Equipment! - Versailles Volunteer Fire Company members proudly display a truckload of new firefighting and safety equipment obtained through a $114,000 FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) grant. While they “have a few more things to buy,” the new equipment includes a thermal imaging camera, a suction machine (from the Auxiliary), MSA airpacks with 10 spare bottles of air, adapters, two new portable generators, six “nice” new fire hose nozzles, and new fire police gear (bright yellow jackets, boots, pants, gloves, helmets and vests). Mike Rosen, who wrote the grant application, said all the new equipment “makes us feel a heck of a lot safer!” Pictured, from left, are Larry Wheeler (with daughter, 5-month-old Meredith), Jeremy Neu, Joel Neu, Mike Rosen, Clarence Woncki (with fire police gear) and Jean Woncki.
