Projectruth Winners - A reception was held at the Butler Mansion in Buffalo to honor the winners of the Projectruth poster contest. Western New York students in grades seven through 12 submitted posters in the competition. Dr. Judith M. Vogtli, Projectruth director, presented the first prize in the high school division to Karen Parish, a home-schooler, and J.C. Beers, a senior at Gowanda Central High School. They received an award of $100 for their effort. Projectruth is an innovative approach to abstinence education that combines the concepts of abstinence until marriage with character education. By building on a foundation of character education, Projectruth delivers the abstinence until marriage message to adolescents in a context that makes sense.
