Mrs. Miller’s fifth grade students

Dare Under Way - Mrs. Miller’s fifth grade students recently started the DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program. Officer Jen Alessi visits St. Joseph School once a week and teaches DARE, a curriculum designed to prepare students in the understanding of choices and consequences. The DARE acronym also stands for Define, Assess, Respond and Evaluate, which is a decision-making model the students use in making good choices, dealing with peer pressure and building self-esteem, life skills to be utilized the rest of their lives.
