Installation banquet held in LangfordOn Feb. 28, Langford-New Oregon Volunteer Fire Company held its annual banquet and installation of officers. There were 145 attendees including officers from the surrounding fire companies under the Helmuth Fire Control.

![]() Special Presentation - Chief Hohman presented the finest plaque ever awarded to a member of the fire company. Richard Dole, past president, has been a member of the fire company since 1947. He served as secretary from 1966 through 1971, then in 1982 he was elected president. He served in this position for 22 years until his retirement this year. Dole served on numerous committees throughout his years as a dedicated fireman, including the building committee for the new fire hall.

![]() Fireman of the Year - Chief Hohman also presented a plaque to Gene Spengler, named Fireman of the Year. Spengler is currently serving as first assistant chief. Phil Glow was presented a certificate for Top Responder with 37 responses.
