Patriotism on display in Gowanda

The Beautification Committee of the Gowanda Area Chamber of Commerce, working with the Village of Gowanda, is currently seeking donations for the preparation of American Flags to be hung along Buffalo, Jamestown and West Main streets. The flags will be a way to show patriotism and create a sense of community within the Village of Gowanda.

The Beautification Committee intends for these flags to go up around May 1 and remain up until October, and annually each year hereafter.

The Chamber has already received generous donations from both the Gowanda VFW and American Legion that provide a good start toward the total cost of $3,000 needed for this project.

The flag project is in no way intended to replace the Lions’ Club Flag Program, as they will be hung annually on the wooden poles along the above-listed streets where there are no flags. Send donations to the Gowanda Chamber Office to the attention of the Beautification Committee.

Deadline for donations is April 9.
