     Palen is a graduate of Gowanda High School and Stratford Graduate School. He enlisted in the Navy in 1943 serving on the Navy destroyer, the USS-Ordronaux until 1946. He joined the Tarbox Agency in 1951 as a sales agent and received his broker's license a few years later.

     In 1969, he bought the agency and became the designated Realtor. In October of 2003, he sold the insurance part of the agency to Palen Inc.

     Palen joins the ranks of the elite group of members of less than 600 in the United States, through the National Association of Realtors.
