A Concert Series Music in the Library: A Concert Series will feature a concert by the Buffalo Chips on Friday evening, Feb. 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. The concert will take place in the main library room of the Town of Collins Public Library, located at 2341 Main Street (Route 39) in Collins. The Buffalo Chips are a group of 15 young men, all students at the State University of New York at Buffalo. They perform a Capella with a very contemporary twist - everything from rock and pop to jazz and funk. Add a dash of humor and you have a Buffalo Chips concert. The Chips were originally formed in 1995. Many Chips' traditions, such as the fall jam concerts, the Valentine's Day shows, entertaining full houses, and Rubber Duckies date to those early days. Since 1998, the Buffalo Chips have participated in the International Championship of College A Capella, where they have traditionally performed very well. The group produces a CD each year, wth the "Buffalo Chips One Eighty-Eight being their most recent recording. The group is a lot of fun, and they offer a solid A Capella experience. The Friends of the Collins Public Library sponsors the monthly concert series. The concerts are free and open to the public. For more information, call 532-5129.
