GFD receives grant - The Gowanda Volunteer Fire Department received a grant for $3,000 to be used for their "Fire Prevention Program." Erie County Legislator Steven McCarville came to Gowanda to present the check to the GFD on Sept. 24. Dale DeCarlo, GFD president, accepted the check. While here, Legislator McCarville was able to witness the "Safety Seat Check" that was in progress. He stated how important this program is and that it was done for the community.
