![]() The Thirds |
Music in the LibraryThe Thirds is one of Buffalo's longest-running acoustic rock bands, dating from their debut in April of 1980 at Curran's and continuing to the present under various configurations. The Thirds presently consists of original band members Joe Head, Jim Brucato, and Charlie O'Neill, who have long teamed to create the unique Thirds sound. Billy McEwen, well-known Buffalo-area musician, will be appearing with The Thirds at the library. Audiences and musical peers alike have viewed the group as arguably the most diverse and distinctive vocal group of the region, delighting listeners with their powerhouse harmonies and wide variety of material, including original music. All members contribute lead and harmony vocals; Charlie O'Neill offers lead guitar, Joe Head provides acoustic/rhythm guitar and Jim Brucato rounds out the standout Thirds style on bass. The Thirds is the winner of the 1991 Buffalo Music Awards in the duo/trio category. The Friends of the Collins Public Library sponsors the monthly concert series. The concerts are free and open to the public. For more information, call 532-5129. This event is made possible in part by the Arts Council in Buffalo & Erie County with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program. The Gowanda Branch of the Community Bank, Hills Funeral Chapel; and McCormack's Hardware have also contributed funding for Music in the Library ... A Concert Series.
