Rumors have it that a unique variety of creatures will adorn the poles of Gowanda's main streets and some sidestreets at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20. Businesses, clubs, organizations and individuals are all participating. Applications are available at Hager's.

     The Scarecrow Contest is part of Gowanda's Heritage Harvest Fest, which will feature Gowanda's Home and Garden Tour on Sunday, Sept. 21 from noon to 5 p.m. Tickets are available at Hager's and JC Penney's
