Persia honors historian - Long-time Town of Persia Historian Jean Hillis was presented with a plaque by town board members, recognizing her for over 21 years of outstanding service to the town. Hillis, who recently retired as town historian, recalled many memorable events, celebrating the Town of Persia's Sesquicentennial in 1985. Hillis noted they began to record the town's history long before it became fashionable to do so, starting with two display cases of artifacts in the town hall. This eventually became the town's Historical Museum. Pictured are: Hillis receiving the plaque from Town Supervisor Mel LeBar, and in back from left, town council members Ken Strohmeyer, Paula Schueler, Harry Ackley and Rich Lipinski.
