![]() Special tribute - While in New York City for a Masonic Lodge convention, Town of Perrysburg resident Jim Johnson visited Ground Zero, which prompted him to search for a gift for his local fire company. Johnson located a print of firefighters raising Old Glory at the Twin Towers site in an art gallery near Penn Station. Grateful for all that the Perrysburg Fire Company does, the retired store owner framed the print and had a plaque engraved that reads "You Are Our Heroes," along with the date 9-11. Saying this is "given from the heart," Johnson presented it to the fire company at one of their meetings. On hand for the photo, from left, are: fire company Vice President Dick Gabel, President Gary Nash, Johnson and Chief Bill Watkins. (Photo by Mary Pankow.) |
