Music in the Park 2003

The Red Garter Band, featuring Art Cooney and friends, will provide snappy, happy sounding ragtime and Dixieland tunes as Gowanda's Summer Music in the Park series moves into the month of August, on Friday, Aug. 1 at 7 p.m.

With a combination of keyboard, banjo, drums and brass, The Red Garter Band will provide cheerful tunes that will invigorate the spirit and make everyone want to clap their hands and dance. This group is well known throughout the Southern Tier and have performed numerous times on the Summer Wind at Chautauqua Lake. (But, you'll have to be at the concert to find out if they really wear red garters!)

The Music in the Park Summer Concert Series is funded by the villages of Gowanda, Perrysburg and Dayton and the towns of Collins and Perrysburg; the Gowanda Kiwanis Club and the Cattaraugus County Council for the Arts. It is coordinated by the Gowanda Area Chamber of Commerce.

Concert-goers are invited to bring lawn chairs and picnic baskets or snacks and are reminded that in case of rain, concerts are held in the First United Methodist Church on North Chapel Street.
