Shakespeare Players to play Gowanda

The Gowanda Free Library will present the "Shakespeare Players," who will perform "Much Ado About Nothing" in Chang-Hu Park on Sunday, July 27 at 1 p.m. Sixteen actors who are high school or middle school students will present the play.

This program will appeal to children in the area and will teach them that Shakespeare can be fun. The adults, parents, and grandparents will also enjoy the performance.

Following this presentation will be the "Seventh Street Swing Band" who will entertain in the park.

This is an adapted version of the play by Jerome McDonough and will last approximately 45 minutes.

This will be the third year that "The Shakespeare Players" have been performing and this year it will be directed by Shirley Reeves, who is directing for the third year with this group. Please bring your own chair or blanket.

The play is partially funded by the Cattaraugus Arts Council, which is funded by New York State's Council on the Arts Decentralization Regrant program.
