Lake Effect - The ever-popular, award-winning Lake Effect Harmony Chorus will perform at Gowanda's Music in the Park Summer Series on Friday, July 18. Lake Effect performs a variety of music in barbershop style. Their repertoire consists of songs in the contemporary, broadway, jazz, swing gospel and patriotic styles. Chang-Hu Park on West Main Street is the setting for the summer music program that begins at 7 p.m. It is sponsored by monies provided by the villages of Gowanda, Perrysburg and Dayton; the towns of Persia and Collins, the Gowanda Kiwanis Club and the Cattaraugus Council for the Arts and is coordinated through the Gowanda Area Chamber of Commerce Concert-goers are welcome to bring a picnic basket or snacks. Lawn chairs are recommended. In case of rain, the concerts will be held in the First Methodist Church on North Chapel Street.
