     Frank C. Deriso, president of U.F.C.W. District Union Local One, is proud to announce that $900,000 for college scholarships was awarded to participants, dependents and grandchildren of the Education, Safety & Cultural Fund.

     This benefit is a 100 percent employer-paid benefit program for members of United Food and Commercial Workers District Union Local One ESC Fund.

     The Education, Safety & Cultural Fund is a negotiated benefit that provides life-enriching programs for union members and their families.

     Special breakfast presentations including the student and their families were recently held across the union’s Upstate New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania jurisdiction.

     Awarded a scholarship was Stacey Ellis of Gowanda, who will attend Niagara University in the fall.
