Academic kudos ....The SUNY Fredonia biology department selected eight students for Holmberg Summer Research Scholarships based on competitive proposals students submitted for independent summer research. Fredonia biology faculty supervise the projects. The scholarships are made possible by a gift from the Holmberg Foundation of Jamestown to the Fredonia College Foundation. Each student received at least $2,500. Among the students selected was Carrie-Ann Babcock of Forestville, a senior majoring in environmental science who was funded to survey freshwater mussels in Cassadaga Creek. Her supervisor is Dr. Mark Clapsadl.
